Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

Saen El-Tara Care Services Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 in line with UK Government targets.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been prepared in accordance with Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline Year: 2026

(Baseline year reflects the first full operational year of trading.)

As a newly established care provider, 2026 represents the first year in which measurable operational emissions data is available.

Current Emissions Reporting
As a small organisation in its first year of trading, emissions have been calculated using operational data and industry conversion factors.

Scope 1 – Direct emissions (fuel use for company-controlled vehicles) 2.5

Scope 2 – Indirect emissions (purchased electricity for office operations) 1.2

Scope 3 – Business travel (staff mileage), waste, water 4.3

These figures are proportionate to organisational scale and will be refined annually as monitoring systems develop.

Emissions Reduction Targets

Saen El-Tara Care Services Ltd commits to:

• Reducing total carbon emissions by 10% by 2028 (from baseline year 2025)

• Continuing staged reductions thereafter in alignment with Net Zero by 2050.

• Reviewing reduction targets annually.
  
  

Carbon Reduction Projects and Environmental Management Measures

The organisation has implemented the following measures:

1. Digital-First Operations

• Use of the LogmyCare electronic care management system to minimise paper use.

• Electronic rostering and digital care records.

• Secure cloud storage reduces the energy consumption of local servers.
  
  

2. Travel Reduction Measures

• Geographical rota planning to minimise staff mileage.

• Remote management meetings are held where possible.

• Encouraging efficient driving practices.

• Ongoing assessment of lower-emission vehicle options.
  
  

3. Energy Efficiency

• Use of energy-efficient lighting and office equipment.

• Equipment shutdown policies outside operational hours.

• Monitoring electricity consumption annually.
  
  

4. Waste Management

• Recycling practices in office settings.

• Reduced single-use consumables where possible.

Future Initiatives

The organisation plans to:

• Introduce mileage tracking software for more accurate Scope 3 reporting.

• Explore the transition to hybrid or electric vehicles where viable, operationally.

• Work with property partners to improve energy efficiency standards.

• Continue development of environmentally responsible procurement practices.

Governance

Responsibility for environmental sustainability rests with the Director.

Progress against carbon reduction targets will be reviewed annually, and this Carbon Reduction Plan will be updated and republished accordingly.
